MEDFORD, Ore-- More than 2,200 people are now without power in Medford near the area between Center Drive and Barnett Road. Pacific Power says that power to that area should be restored by around 11:30 p.m., however they say that power could be restored sooner or perhaps even later.
The power company says that repair crews are on their way to the scene and will be investigating into the cause of the outage.
Also according to Pacific Power, they have recieved phone calls from customers affected by the outage in which they say that they heard "gun-like" sounds in the area, which could be linked to a transformer going down. However, no crews have made it to the scene to confirm that.
The first report of power going down in the area was made around 8:54 p.m.
