YREKA, Calif. — Police have released a sketch of the suspect in an armed carjacking earlier this week. Investigators say that the man depicted forced someone at gunpoint to drive him between Yreka and Redding.
Authorities said the victim was forced to drive the armed suspect about 100 miles from Yreka to Redding. The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 30 years old, standing about six feet tall, and was wearing a black jacket, gloves, and dirty jeans.

Officials in Redding said that on January 7 around 4 p.m. they were called to Tractor Supply in Mountain View Drive to respond to a carjacking victim. The victim told police the suspect had fled the scene after he forced the victim to drive from Yreka to Redding.
Driving south on I-5, officials say the victim exited on Twin View Boulevard because of low fuel, when, at a stop, the suspect fled toward Caterpillar Road.
Redding Police and CHP Air Operations searched for the suspect but he was not located.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 years of age, 6 feet tall, wearing a black jacket, gloves, and dirty jeans.
