Police searching for suspect in Medford bike shop theft

Medford Police are searching for a theft suspect following a bicycle theft from Al's Cycle on N. Central Ave.

MEDFORD, Ore. -- This morning just after 4a.m., Medford Police responded to an alarm at Al's Cycle on N. Central Ave. 

Surveillance video showed two suspects breaking the window and stealing bicycles, each valued at $500. Medford Police said that one of the suspects, 33-year-old Michael Caleb Baker, was caught riding the stolen bike along the bike path around 45 minutes later.

Police are still searching for the second suspect and second bicycle.

The stolen bike is a bright green Raleigh "Cadent 2" cross bicycle. The suspect is described as a white male wearing green camo style shorts, dark clothing and a backpack.

Medford Police say they have had a rash of stolen bikes this summer. Police ask if you have a bicycle to please document the serial number and consider getting it registered for free with our department.
