GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety says Grants Pass Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at 515 SW Western Avenue around 5:49 am on January 5, 2019.
They say the fire was on the front porch of the house. It was called in by neighbors who saw the flames.
Police say the homeowner was using a garden hose to try to put out the fire. Fire crews arrived shortly after and quickly extinguished the fire. The inside of the house was searched, and crews found that while there was some smoke the fire had not spread into the home.
