MEDFORD, Ore-- With Middle School and High School students returning to the classroom on Monday, March 29 the Medford Police Department wants to remind drivers about School Zone Trafic Safety.
According to the Medford Police Department increased patrols will be happening in school zones within the City of Medford.
Police are asking that drivers be aware of school zones and use caution when driving through them, especially with more students returning to campus. However, if you are caught speeding in a school zone during designated school times, speed violations will increase significantly according to police.
In zones adjacent to school grounds, police say that they will have signage displaying the speed limit at 20 miles per hour and will Flash during School Days from 7 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon. Zones at school crosswalks away from schools grounds will also have signage displaying the speed limit at 20 miles per hour when flashing or when children are present.
