KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The man responsible for setting multiple fires at Klamath Falls businesses over the weekend is now in custody, according to Klamath Falls Police.
Officers from KFPD responded on Saturday to two structure fires at Coastal Farm and Ranch and a third at Diamond Home Improvement. All three fires were found to have been set intentionally following an investigation with the help of Klamath County Fire District One's investigator.
"Both fires caused substantial damage to both buildings," KFPD said in a statement.
An investigation of the arsons led detectives to a 46-year-old transient, Jason Daniel Smith, according to KFPD. Detectives found Smith on Tuesday and took him into custody without trouble.
Smith was lodged at the Klamath County Jail on three counts of Arson II.
The case remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact KFPD at 541-883-5336.
