GRANTS PASS, Ore. — The investigation into a report of "shots fired" in a Grants Pass neighborhood last week led to a 19-year-old robbery suspect who was already in the Josephine County Jail on unrelated charges, according to the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety.
Officers responded to the 200-block of Grandview Avenue around 11 p.m. last Friday following calls about multiple shots fired. The responding officers did not find the suspect or any injured victims, but detectives began investigating the incident.
This Thursday, GPDPS detectives served a warrant at 1849 Harbeck Road in connection with the June 11 shooting. The agency said that detectives found evidence during the search that connected 19-year-old William "Brodie" Miller to the shooting last Friday.
By the time of the search, Miller was already being held at the Josephine County Jail on unrelated charges. According to the jail log, Miller was arrested the day following the shooting on charges for robbery with a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, and theft. The investigation this week brought additional charges for unlawful use of a weapon and menacing.
GPDPS asked that anyone in the area of southeast Grants Pass with more information on these incidents call Detective Shali Marshall at 541-450-6260.
"We are asking for the public to continue to call and report any suspicious activity," the agency said. "Additionally, the Department of Public Safety would like to assure citizens the recent shooting incidents have the highest priority for our personnel."
