MEDFORD, Ore. — After receiving a call on Tuesday around 6:30 a.m., Medford Police (MPD) responded to LC Antiques on S Riverside Avenue to find an "unresponsive male" lying on the ground in front of the business.

Officers determined that the man, later identified as 46-year-old Patrick Curnutte, was dead when they arrived. According to MPD, there were circumstances at the scene that led them to believe the death might be suspicious in nature.

After some investigation, MPD has said that it does not appear that Curnutte died from any type of "homicidal violence," and an autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of Curnutte's death.

Curnette was well known to law enforcement officers, MPD said in a Facebook post, and had been using an alcove outside of LC Antiques for sleeping.

MPD have notified Curnette's next of kind about his death, and released the man's name on Wednesday.
