EAGLE POINT, Ore. — Detectives serving a search warrant in Eagle Point uncovered much more than they bargained for last Friday, according to Medford Police — finding a stockpile of weapons, drugs, and cash.
MPD said that investigators from Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement (MADGE) served a warrant on 32-year-old Anthony Minneci at his house in the 100-block of Eagle View Drive on November 13.
"While Minneci was wanted in regards to eluding an officer, he was also known to be involved in drugs, which was confirmed," Medford Police.
During the search, detectives reportedly found more than a pound of heroin, nearly a pound of methamphetamine, 500 pounds of marijuana, 18 guns, a 40mm grenade launcher, a silencer, and more than $15,000 in cash.
According to an affidavit filed by the arresting officer, detectives were in Minneci's house looking for a key to the 2005 Audi A4 that Minneci allegedly used when eluding police. Much of the contraband was in "plain view" during the search, prompting a request for another search warrant to thoroughly search the property.
Minneci faces a total of 15 counts on a laundry list of different charges.
"Needless to say, the eluding is now the least of his worries. Great case by our drug detectives!" Medford Police concluded.
