GOLD HILL, Ore. -- Officials with the Southern Oregon Water Technology says some areas in the City of Gold Hill are under a boil water order due to a main line break in town.
Officials add that homes South of 2nd Ave in the City of Gold Hill are experiencing cloudy water and loss of pressure due to a water main break. The public water system will be restored as soon as possible, contractors will work through the night to repair the leak and flush the drinking water system.
The Gold Hill City Manager says the city will be on a preventive boil order once the water service has been restored for up to 72-hours while it collects bacteria samples and ensures the water is safe to drink.
Officials say to not drink the water without boiling it. Customers should bring water to a rolling boil for 1 full minute, allow the water to cool before using, and store the cooled water in a clean container with a cover.
