SALEM, Ore-- On Sunday, The Oregon Health Authority is reporting 1,290 new and presumptive cases of the coronavirus, pushing the state to a new weekly record. In the last seven days, the state has seen 10,255 new cases which crushes the previous weekly record by more than a thousand cases.
Oregon's total case count is rose to 84,496 since the start of the pandemic. The six additional deaths today also means that 1,033 Oregonians have now died from the coronavirus.
The state is also reporting a new weekly record of deaths this week with more than 125 new deaths. The previous record was 85.
Four different counties are reporting almost 100 new cases or more including: Jackson(99), Washington(181), Clackamas(187) and Multnomah(187) counties.
However, the number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients across Oregon decreased today by 10, to a grand total of 546 patients in the hospital because of the coronavirus. There are also 113 patients in ICU beds, which is five fewer than yesterday.
