PORTLAND, Ore-- Early Saturday afternoon, the Oregon Health Authority reported another 536 new and presumptive cases of coronavirus, along with five more deaths.
With the addition of these new cases and deaths, Oregon has now experienced 152,711 total cases of coronavirus and has lost 2,154 Oregonians to the deadly disease.
Although Oregon continues to report hundreds of new cases and several deaths each day, the state is continuing to ramp up vaccinations.
According to the OHA, more than 25,000 new doses of Covid-19 vaccinations were added to the state's immunization registry. Of those 25,602 doses, the OHA says that 20,646 were from yesterday, while the other 4,946 were from previous days.
Since vaccinations began across Oregon, the state has administered 781,202 first and second doses of Covid-19 vaccines. To date, Oregon has also received 924,575 total doses of coronavirus vaccines.
The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon also decreased to 163, which is 13 fewer than yesterday.
However, intensive care unit beds (ICU) increase today to 51. That's two more than yesterday's count
The OHA wants to remind people that the total number of patients in hospital beds may fluctuate between report times and that the numbers do not reflect admissions per day, nor the length of hospital stay. Staffing limitations are also not captured in this data and may further limit bed capacity.
