EUGENE, Ore-- Today, the Oregon Ducks took down the Stanford Cardinal in Autzen Stadium 35-17, behind Tyler Shough's solid performance.

Shough went 17 for 26, throwing for 226 yards and a touchdown. The young quarterback also did some work with his legs tonight, rushing for 85 yards and scoring a TD midway through the third quarter to help put the game away.

Veteran running back CJ Verdell, put a lot of the load on his shoulders tonight, carrying the ball 20 times, for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Oregon will take on Washington State next week in Pullman.

While in Corvallis, the Washington State Cougars beat the Oregon State Beavers tonight in a late back and forth game.

Wazzu had a large lead going midway into the third quarter 28-7, but superstar running back Jermar Jefferson put the Beaver's offense on his back, scoring on three late drives, making it a 3 point game late into the fourth quarter.

But after the Beavers made it a 31-28 game, the Cougars on their next possession only needed one play, a 44-yard touchdown run from Travell Harris to put the game out of reach.

Tristan Gebbia went 34 for 48, for 329 yards and a touchdown, as a full fledged starter for the Beavers, as the team losses its seventh straight Pac-12 opener, 38-28.
