ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Fremont Middle School student was arrested on Wednesday, accused of threatening another student with a gun at a bus stop and firing it, district officials said.
Police said that late on Tuesday afternoon, two male students stole a vehicle and discovered a gun inside. According to reports, the gun was later used in the bus stop incident around 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Police said that the student fired the gun into the ground.
The other student believed to be involved in the vehicle theft has also been arrested, officials said.
Roseburg Public Schools is cooperating with the investigation. The district said that it cannot release the names of the students that were involved.
