KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A trooper with Oregon State Police found pounds of heroin and fentanyl during a traffic stop and search along Highway 97 near Klamath Falls on Saturday, according to the agency.
Shortly before 8 p.m., a trooper from the Klamath Falls Area Command pulled over the driver of a 2016 Ford Escape SUV for "speeding and failure to drive within lane" on Highway 97 northbound near milepost 278, OSP said.

The trooper was granted consent to search the vehicle by both the driver and a passenger, OSP continued. A search of the SUV found roughly 11.2 pounds of heroin and 2 pounds of fentanyl concealed inside.
OSP identified the driver as 41-year-old Santiago Romero-Jaurez, and the passenger as 27-year-old Efrain Ruiz-Ordono. Both men are from Ventura, California.
The two men were charged with Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Heroin and Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Controlled Substance - Schedule II.
