PORTLAND, Ore-- The Oregon Liquor Control Commission is expecting that fans of both the Oregon State Beavers and Oregon Ducks to gather at bars to watch the games, as the first week of Pac-12 football returns.
But with Covid-19 on the rise in the state of Oregon, reporting more than 800 new cases today, the OLCC wants to remind people that there will be some changes compared to previous years.
The long-time organization wants to let people know that indoor facilities can not have too many people within its doors at one time. A max of 100 people for indoor and 250 people for outdoor may be allowed at a given time. Businesses may not exceed those limits. Depending on the size of the venue in which a fan might be attending, the number might be even smaller.
People within bars must maintain social distancing requirements and limit their parties to 10 people or fewer. However, people who are in the same party do not have to be six feet apart.
Bars and food venues will also be closing at 10 p.m. as usual, so if the game is not finished by that time, people will still have to vacate to a different location.
The OLCC says that inspectors will be making their usual rounds this weekend and that they don’t want to penalize any business. They hope that people follow the guidelines set by the state to ensure people's safety during the pandemic.
