MEDFORD, Ore. — A NewsWatch 12 viewer won a grand prize trip to Mexico for a fishing expedition after participating in the virtual 2021 Sportsmen’s & Outdoor Recreation Show at the end of February.
Tyler Tull entered the giveaway, which was offered by Baja Pirates, an elite exhibitor at the annual Medford Show. He ended up winning an all-expense paid trip for two to La Paz, Mexico, for three nights and two days of fishing.
Tull chose his father, Jack, to accompany him on the trip. The two set out on August 2. After a stop-over in Salt Lake City, the pair traveled non-stop to Cabo and were finally escorted to their luxury accommodations at the Marine Waterfront Hotel in La Paz, right next to the Baja Pirates marina.
The pair got to enjoy a two-day fishing expedition, netting several species of triggerfish, dorado, needlefish, skipjack and rockfish.
“The Baja Pirates captains and guides were top shelf, and catered to our every need," said Tull.
During the evenings, Tull and his dad got to relax at the hotel, taste the local food, and take in the nearby sights and sounds of La Paz. The two reported having the experience of a lifetime, and they're excited to return.
"Thank you to the Baja Pirates and ExpoSure and to all the others that made our fantastic trip possible," Tull said. "We’re planning a trip in the near future with the entire family!”
Tull is a regular NewsWatch 12 viewer, and said that he enjoyed the virtual Sportsmen’s & Outdoor Recreation Show, but looks forward to the return of live shows in 2022 at the Jackson County Expo.
