MEDFORD, Ore. -- A new home and garden store is coming to Downtown Medford. It's called Bumble & Wren. The store's grand opening will be on Friday at 10 a.m.

Bumble & Wren sells fresh plants and gardening tools. You can even make your own terrarium at the store. There are also plenty of items for inside the home. You can buy lotions, candles and decorations for the upcoming fall season.

Cindi Hickey owns Bumble & Wren. This is her second store. She also owns the Blue Door Garden Store in Downtown Jacksonville.

Hickey bought Bumble & Wren's building last fall. She said she hopes it brings more people to Downtown Medford.

"I hope it kind of becomes a destination store so people can specifically come to Downtown Medford and enjoy the atmosphere," said Hickey. "They can pick out their plant or their gift or visit with my dog, Maya. People can just come in, have fun and enjoy the atmosphere."

Bumble & Wren also sells products that were made in Oregon. The store sells fire lighters that were made in Bend and plush pumpkins made in Portland.

Grand opening

People at the grand opening will be greeted by Bumble & Wren's resident dog, Maya. If that wasn't enough of a present, you'll also get a free bag filled with a cookie and an air plant.

You'll be able to look around the store's interior and the store's patio area. The store's owner said that the past couple of weeks have been busy, but she's ready for the store to open.

"To have people come in and visit for their first time and see their reactions is very personally humbling to me," said Hickey. "I just kind of like to see how their eyes and their faces say oh wow, this is really cool. I don't feel like I'm in Downtown Medford, I feel like I'm somewhere else."

Bumble & Wren will also be staying open late, until 8 p.m., on Friday. This is because they are part of Medford's Third Friday.
