GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Reports to law enforcement from a Neighborhood Watch group helped prompt a search that unearthed drugs, stolen vehicle, guns, and cash, according to the Josephine County Sheriff's Office.

Around 9 a.m. on Monday, deputies arrived at 129 Patrick Drive looking for multiple stolen vehicles that were believed to be on the property. According to the Sheriff's Office, tips from the local Neighborhood Watch helped lead them to the house.

The deputies soon found a stolen 2018 John Deere Excavator — worth about $39,000 — a car trailer, and a 2017 34' travel trailer.

"Deputies contacted five suspects related to the activity on the property and gained consent to the search the travel trailer," the Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators say a search of the trailer recovered the following items:

  • 21.8 grams of Methamphetamine
  • 39 grams of Heroin
  • 5 grams of Cocaine
  • 220 pounds of Marijuana
  • Liquid Codeine
  • Morphine
  • Large quantities of illegal prescription pills
  • Drug scales and packaging materials
  • Over $4200 in cash "related to drug sales"
  • One recovered stolen firearm and five additional firearms
  • A stolen license plate

The deputies arrested 31-year-old Jessie Cooper and 37-year-old Bodie Arthur. Cooper was jailed on two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and reckless endangering. Arthur was held on an out-of-county felony warrant. More suspects are "still under investigation" related to illegal activities at the Patrick Drive house.

"The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Neighborhood Watch groups for their partnership and helping keep our communities safe," the agency said. "In this case the Neighborhood Watch group provided critical information over the past two weeks regarding the illegal drug activity at the location. Additionally, The Office extends its gratitude to the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement Team for this ongoing investigation."
