Josephine County Sheriff's Office: Missing Josephine County Man Found Safe

The Josephine County Sheriff's Office says Randy Kottke went missing while looking for a lost animal off of Caves Highway.

Josephine County, OR. -- UPDATE 5:05PM: Josephine County Sheriff Daniel confirms Randy Kottke found safe Tuesday evening.

The Josephine County Sheriff's Office says Randy Kottke went missing while looking for a lost animal off of Caves Highway. 

Sheriff's say Kottke was last seen at 6:00 p.m. Sunday night. They say Kottke was with six other people looking for the animal when it because too dark to continue. Sheriff's report the six other people returned to camp the night before. They say on Monday morning the friends realized Kottke had not returned to camp the previous evening. Sheriff's say the friends searched for Kottke most of Monday and called 911 to report him missing. 

Members from the Josephine County Search and Rescue responded to the area Monday evening and searched until late Monday night. Search and Rescue members returned to the area Tuesday morning and are currently still on scene searching. Search efforts consist of Road teams, K9 teams, ATV teams and one helicopter from the National Guard.

Randy Kottke is described as in his 50's, 160-180 pounds, with medium length gray hair. Sheriff's say he was last seen wearing blue jeans, a green pullover sweatshirt "fieldturf" printed on both front and back, possibly wearing boots or tennis shoes.
