MT. SHASTA, Cali --- A suspect is in the Siskiyou County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm.
The suspect is 65 year old Garth Weedon. Mt. Shasta Police says Weedon was sleeping in his vehicle near the Piemont restaurant when a friend tried to wake him up to check on him. That's when a shot was fired and the driver side window shattered.
Police say the victim ran away and called 911. The victim was not injured. Officers went to the car and found Weedon. He was taken to jail.
Deputies found a loaded magazine, a holster and a shell casing, but not the gun. Police are still looking for it.
