ASHLAND, Ore --- The Mt. Ashland Ski Area is preparing for the season. It finished it's first job fair of the season this weekend.
The job fair was six hours long. If you couldn't make it this weekend, the general manage says not to worry. You can apply online.
Right now, they're hiring for the cafe, ski school and lodge maintenance. He says no other preparation for the season is as important as building their team of employees for the season.
"It's a lot about the economic impact. We hire about 130 people in a time where things start to slow down in the valley. Those seasonal summer positions start to go away, and we bring them up here and keep them gainfully employed. Thus, keeping them in the valley which is really important to us." says Hiram Towle. He is General Manager of the Mt. Ashland Ski Area.
The season on Mt. Ashland is expected to begin December 14th.
