WILDERVILLE, Ore. — Emergency crews responded to an area north of Wilderville after a motorcyclist ran into a tree on Wednesday night, according to Rural Metro Fire.
The motorcyclist was seriously injured by the impact, but Rural Metro and AMR were able to stabilize them before moving to Dinsdale Farm to meet up with a helicopter from Mercy Flights.
"Night landings present additional challenges for pilots," Rural Metro said. "Having pre-determined sites that are free of hazards, provide for a safer transfer from ground units to the helo. The Dinsdale Farm has been used a number of times due to their large, open spaces. First Responders appreciate the cooperative efforts that enhance patient care."
The crash is still under investigation by the Josephine County Sheriff's Office. The identity and current condition of the rider is currently unknown.
