PHOENIX, Ore-- According to Phoenix-Talent School District Superintendent, Brent Barry, Phoenix and Talent schools will be offering more in-person learning starting on the week of April 13.
Barry says that the start day will be on April 13 instead of April 12 because of an in-service day within the school district.
Both elementary and middle school students will have full in-person classes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. While Wednesday will be used for specialists, virtual learning and planning and prepping for staff.
Phoenix High School will still offer an am/pm model similar to what the school is already offering now, with more opportunities for students to access in-person learning.
This change comes as the Oregon Department of Education updated their social distancing guidelines in the classroom, allowing for three feet of distance in-between students inside a classroom instead of six feet.
So far Eagle Point, Medford and Klamath County School Districts have all started to make the transition to getting more students back into the classroom.
The Phoenix and Talent School District will still be offering virtual options to students who wish to remain online.
