Mercy Flights Landing Mishap Ends With No Injuries

Authorities are still investigating to determine what caused the incident.

MEDFORD, Ore. -- A Mercy Flights aircraft executed a gear up landing yesterday at the Siskiyou County Airport, near Montague, Calif. The two pilots made it out without injury, and there were no medical staff or patients onboard.

A statement from Mercy Flights in Medford indicated that this was intended to be a training flight from Medford to California. It is unclear whether Siskiyou County Airport was the intended destination for the training flight, or if the flight was cut short somehow for an emergency landing.

Mercy Flights claimed in the statement that they will be fully cooperating with investigators to determine the cause of the rough landing. They will be releasing updates as new information becomes clear.

The aircraft, a 1994 Beechcraft King Air C90, is a small twin-turboprop passenger plane. Mercy Flights is a non-profit emergency services organization, based in the Medford area.
