KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- No matter what the road conditions may be, some jobs require some people to drive.
Klamath Medical Transport helps people with their non-emergent medical needs, like taking them to and from doctor’s appointments, to pick up prescriptions, etc. Dispatcher and driver Colton Chaney said they make more than 100 trips a day all around Oregon and sometimes out of the state to Northern California, Washington, even to Idaho. When it snows, drivers can't go as fast so they have to schedule out their pickups, adding a bit more time.
"We try to accommodate and time accordingly so they can make it there to their appointment on time,” Chaney said. “Because if they don't make it to their appointments on time they obviously don't get their appointment."
He added the company carefully monitors road conditions and the weather to accurately schedule out those pick up times. All of the company's cars have chains.
