CNN --- Exercise is important for our health, but most Americans need to spend more time working up a sweat.
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says each week, people between 18 and 64 should do at least 150 minutes of moderate activity, or 75 minutes of vigorous physical activity. As well as muscle strengthening activities at least twice a week.
However according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, less than 25 percent of people are meeting that goal.
Colorado is the state with the best percentage of people exercising regularly, at 32.5%.
Many of the states that missed the mark are in the southeast, like Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
