MEDFORD, Ore. — Macy's department store at the Rogue Valley Mall has reopened, the company announced on Thursday. The store will have added options for customers and some new health and safety features amid ongoing coronavirus concerns.
“We are ready to welcome our customers back to Macy’s Medford Rogue Valley,” said Marc Mastronardi, chief stores officer at Macy’s. “We’re introducing new precautions to keep your family and ours safe and are now offering curbside pick-up to make getting what you want quick and easy. Our teams have come together and supported each other and our communities throughout this challenging time, and we look forward to safely serving our customers whenever they are ready to shop.”
The Rogue Valley Mall reopened on May 15 as Jackson County entered Phase I of the state's plan to gradually lift coronavirus restrictions, but the stores within have opened at their own pace.
Macy's will be open from the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The company says that there will be "frequent and enhanced cleaning" in high-traffic areas of the stores and on hard surfaces, social distancing guidelines for customers and employees, new hand sanitize stations throughout the store, and plexiglass barriers at some registers. Employees will also be wearing masks and doing daily wellness checks.
Customers who order online or through the Macy's app can get free curbside pickup Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Orders placed after noon will be ready by the following business day.
"Customers will call their local store once they arrive at the designated curbside pick-up location," the company said. "Following social distancing guidelines, a Macy’s colleague will confirm their order and place the merchandise in the trunk of the car, limiting contact between customers and colleagues. At select locations open to the public, customers can also pick-up orders from the 'At Your Service' desk inside the store, a dedicated location for seamless online pick-ups and returns."
Macy's said that it has also extended its return policy so customers can return items purchased online up to 60 days past the original end date on the receipt. Items purchased in a store still must be returned to a store. If the last day to return merchandise fell within the store closure timeframe, customers have an extra 30 days to make a return after the store reopens.
