MEDFORD, Ore. – A local designer is trying to push the barriers of fashion by including all body types and all ages. Sonshine Apparel is a local plus-size designing label, founded right here in Southern Oregon.

Anna Chauffe started by opening her first store 9 years ago in Jacksonville, OR, “The Creator's Gallery & Boutique”. She now owns two other stores, “Fit for a Queen” in Medford and “The Creator's Gallery & Boutique“ in Eagle Point.

Three years ago, she launched their first plus-sized designing label, “Sonshine Apparel.” The label was picked up by Tod Foulk with Portland Fashion Week and since then “Sonshine Apparel” designs have been featured in multiple fashion shows.

“We’ve done about nine runway shows,” says Chauffe.

Right now, Chauffe works with clients one-on-one, creating pieces that make women feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. She hopes to start production of “Sonshine Apparel” in the near future.

“A lot of the ladies that come in here and have me work for them put it on and it makes them truly feel like $1 million. They are so happy that they’ve got something that makes them feel beautiful and that’s what it’s all about,” says Chauffe.
