ASHLAND, Ore.,-This morning, the Christian community reacts to the Sri Lanka bombing at an Easter service in Lithia Park.
The first three explosions in Sri Lanka went off during Easter Sunday Services at Christian churches. Officials haven't said what prompted the bombings, though it appears the primary target is Sri Lanka's minority Christian population. Sri Lanka is a predominantly Buddhist nation, Christians account for less than 10% of the populations.
The pope condemned the attack during Easter Mass prayers in Vatican City. Today, Ashland residents are sending their prayers to abroad.
"It's very sad that it's on Easter and that is a very hurtful time for Christians for a tragedy like this to happen," says Alex Grimaldi.
