KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Despite supply shortages and delays, Sky Lakes Medical Center plans to hold vaccination clinics for people 70 and older later this week.
The no-charge clinics are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, on the fourth floor of the original medical center building.
Vaccinations are by appointment only, and can be scheduled by calling 1-833-606-4370 starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. No walk-in slots or on-site appointments will be available. The call center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
Remaining educators, school staff, childcare providers, first responders and healthcare workers will still be able to get first doses of the vaccine on March 1 in a separate clinic, also on the fourth floor of the medical center. This clinic will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also require an appointment.
Oregonians 70 and older became eligible for the vaccine on Monday. The state's plan opens to those 65 and older next Monday.
"Vaccination of anyone in any of the currently eligible groups depends entirely on the limited number of doses allocated to Sky Lakes," the healthcare provider said. "Call 1-833-606-4370 Wednesdays to learn appointment the availability for the week."
