KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Klamath Falls Police arrested a man last week after he allegedly assaulted an ex-girlfriend and fired a handgun into her apartment in two incidents over the course of several days.

The agency said that officers first responded to the High Lakes apartments on Shasta Way just before 11 p.m. on April 14 for reports of an assault. At the scene, a woman told officers that she had been "tied up, physically assaulted, and forced outside of her apartment by her ex-boyfriend." Police identified the man as Zachary Brennan.

Brennan, a convicted felon, reportedly had a handgun. He'd left the scene in a vehicle, and officers were unable to find him that night.

Two days later, officers again responded to the High Lakes apartments after the same woman reported that Brennan had fired several rounds into her apartment. The two people who were inside the apartment at the time escaped injury.

Officers again searched the area for Brennan, finding his vehicle abandoned in a nearby alley. They were unable to find the suspect, however.

On Wednesday, April 7, investigators from Klamath Falls Police were watching areas where Brennan was "known to associate." Shortly before 3 p.m., Brennan was spotted getting into a car in the 2500-block of Applegate Avenue. KFPD officers and troopers from Oregon State Police pulled the vehicle over on Washburn Way near Crater Lake Parkway, successfully taking Brennan into custody.

Brennan faces a laundry list of charges, including two counts of Attempted Murder and Kidnapping in the First Degree.

Police said that the case is still under investigation. If you have information that can assist the investigation, contact the Klamath Falls Police Department at 541-883-5336, or call the anonymous tip line at 541-883-5334.
