MEDFORD, Ore. -- It's been one year since Kid Time Children's Museum has won the battle to move into the historic Medford Carnegie Library building. Now Kid Time is ready to expand.

"More space would be nice. I could see that there would be a lot of potential if they had more space. There is a lot they could do," said Emaryia Adams. She brings her youngest child to Kid Time once a week.

The current Kid time Children’s Museum location is a little cramped on rainy days. There also aren't any windows inside. The pre-school only has this small lot to play in outside which means if you're just visiting with your kids there's not outside place for play.

“I think that's important. When the weather is good, that's the one thing I wish that was different because if we could be at a park they could do the music and movement class….outside would be great," said Theresa Racklaff. She brings her twin granddaughters frequently.

Those are the three huge reasons the organization fought to be in the old Medford Carnegie Library building.

"It will be there for at least 50 years and that's one of the reasons we want to be there. It's a place of our own to design it the way we need to fit for the community. That’s why we've spent the last year designing it well. It's a place for us to grown and serve the kids well," said Executive Director Sunny Spicer.

The new location will allow the pre-school to expand as well as the museum. It will also give the organization half an acre of outside space.

"It’s a great thing not just for our organization but for the kids in our community and we're excited to roll it out," added Spicer.

The plans for the new building are all drawn up. The downstairs area for the pre-school will be ready in time for the next school year.

Kid Time won't just be moving into a new building, it is also rebranding and will get a completely new name. That name will be revealed during a big launch planned for June 1st.
