MEDFORD, Ore. -- Today Jackson County Public Health is announcing three new confirmed COVID-19 cases. This brings the countywide total to 60 cases.

The three new cases announced on Sunday are in addition to the two new cases announced on Saturday. That brings the total Memorial Day weekend cases to five.

There are still no Coronavirus deaths reported in Jackson County.

Of the 60 total cases, only 14 remain active.

Here is a breakdown of cases in Jackson County:

  • Active: 14
  • Recovered cases: 46
  • Total cases: 60
  • Deaths: 0

Also new today, Jackson County announced it will start reporting the number of cases using a cut off time of 12:01 a.m., instead of 9:00 a.m.  This change will align with the Oregon Health Authority's cut off time, and will prevent further confusion in reporting.

Jackson County Public Health says it acknowledges the gatherings that typically happen over Memorial Day Weekend. They advise people to remember current COVID-19 restrictions and guidance from the Governor's office. They remind people that travel should be limited to essential reasons only, and to stay home as much as possible.

Health officials say that the availability of testing has increased in Jackson County. So, if you develop mild symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell), you should contact your medical provider. Your medical provider can make a referral for you to get tested at the appropriate location. You can also contact one of the medical clinics or healthcare systems that are providing testing. Testing and treatment for COVID-19 are available to all people, regardless of documentation status.

Current health centers or healthcare systems providing testing in Jackson County are:
