CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. -- The Josephine County Sheriff's Office is trying to figure out who is behind recent vandalism.
The vandals hit two schools over the weekend and some nearby cars.
Dave Valenzuela, Three Rivers Superintendent, said this isn't the first time vandals have caused damage to school property or cars left at the schools.
He said security cameras showed a group of kids damaging a car parked at Illinois Valley High School.
"We had some students that were away at a basketball tournament and a parent had left a car there for their son to drive home when he got home from the tournament, and we had some kids that were jumping up on the hood and bashing the windshield in," Valenzuela said.
Security cameras at Lorna Byrne Middle School also captured a group around the school late at night. A broken window was found the next morning.
"Lorna Byrne Middle School is right by Jubilee park and I think they were in between the park and the school," he said.
Valenzuela said the school district recently got a quote for a new security system at Illinois Valley High School that would help create secure areas for students, parents and staff to park their cars.
"Right now we have general coverage cameras, so that covers a large area, but when you cover a large area, the clarity of that video is less," Valenzuela said.
He said he hopes the new security system will be in place by Fall 2018.
