An investigation is underway after an officer involved shooting in Klamath Falls.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore- An investigation is underway after an officer involved shooting in Klamath Falls.

The Klamath county district attorney's office says Matthew Derby was seen trying to break into cars in the Albertson's parking lot.

The sheriff's office says Derby drove through parking lots and the wrong way down a road.

He lost control of the car, spun out, and started driving toward a deputy.

That's when the deputy shot his gun.

Derby is in critical condition.

The deputy was not hurt.
