CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- The northbound fast lane of I-5 is back open at Central Point after a semi truck carrying sheets of glass overturned early Tuesday morning.
Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) said that the lane would be closed through most of Tuesday after crews responded to the crash around 3:15 a.m. Cews were working to recover the semi after it crashed in the median south of the Central Point exit.
ODOT says the flatbed truck was hauling sheet glass, which spilled and shattered in the median. The driver was transported to the hospital, although officials did not release any further information about their condition.
Drivers were told to watch for traffic control and give extra time for expected delays and congestion.
The passing lane of I-5 was closed for nearly nine hours during the response and clean-up efforts.
"Watch for crews in the median continuing clean-up efforts after this morning's semi crash," ODOT said.
