MEDFORD, Ore.--A local food truck is currently vying for the title of "best hot dog vendor" in the country.

‘Victory Dogs’ is sitting in third place against nine other vendors across the country.

Chuck Reeder says, "We've been on this street corner for almost 6 years now. July will be our six-year anniversary. My specialty is putting meat on top of hot dogs, where a person will use onions, I will use pastrami."

‘Victory Dogs’ is set up on the corner of 8th Street and Central in Medford.
The owner, Chuck Reeder, says he tries to make creative combinations for meat-lovers to enjoy.
And he’s been crafting these skills for years.

Chuck Reeder says, "I've been a restaurant guy my entire life. I started off fifteen, my first job I ever had was at Deli Down."

For the second year in a row, ‘Victory Dogs’ is trying to get Medford ranked number one in the country for hot dogs.

Mobile Cuisine, an online destination for the food truck industry, is holding an online contest.

Medford is up against the big dogs, stands in bigger cities like Minneapolis, and Chicago.

Chuck Reeder says, "There's all these places that have a lot more people than we do, so even to come close is pretty amazing."

Last year ‘Victory Dogs’ got 4th place.

Chuck says he hopes Southern Oregon will soon be known as a premiere destination for meat lovers.

Chuck Reeder says, "We've surprised them with our beer and wine and now they're paying attention to us that's where the mobile cuisine comes in, it makes us more searchable."
