CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- This weekend, dinosaurs are alive again.

Dinosaur lovers will be able to see these creatures at Jurassic Quest. The exhibit will be inside of the Seven Feathers Event Hall at the Jackson County Expo, today through Sunday.

Jurassic Quest is North America's largest traveling dinosaur exhibit. They travel to almost every state with about 100 dinosaurs. Paleontologists helped build the dinosaurs to make sure they look scientifically accurate, according to crew member Brittney Manahan. That means their teeth, claws and eyes are realistic.

People who work at Jurassic Quest said anyone who likes dinosaurs will be enchanted, even adults.

"The parents' reactions are the best part," said Manahan. "Cause you have the kiddos that are super excited and you have parents that are like okay, I spend my days working all the time, but here I am. I get to see dinosaurs and I get to be a kid, too."

The dinosaurs will be grouped in different scenes and immersed in different environments with dirt, bark and leaves. Kids will also be able to dig up fossils, jump in bounce houses and play on rides.

Traveling with dinosaurs

Jurassic Quest travels to 47 states throughout the year. The crew packs all the dinosaurs in about 14 semis. In each city, some dinosaurs are so big they need to be unpacked and moved with forklifts. Smaller dinosaurs are arranged by hand.

Paleontologists compiled all different types of information about each dinosaur, like whether they are a carnivore or an herbivore. That's why Jurassic Quest experience is fun and educational, according to Manahan.

"It's as if they're real," said Manahan. "These dinosaurs are moving and they're roaring at the kids. It makes it even better. Not only do you get to see this dinosaur for yourself, you get to hear them."
