UPDATE - 4:58 pm: The fire on the Bear Creek Greenway has now burned five acres of land, according to the Medford Fire Department. An RV Park and businesses near the fire have been evacuated, but no evacuation orders are currently in place at this time.

Strong winds are also fueling spot fires, making the fire harder to contain.

According to Medford Fire, the location of the fire and the surrounding buildings are making direct access to the fire difficult. Medford Fire is on scene along with Jackson County Fire District 3, Oregon Department of Forestry, the Medford Police Department and Jackson County Sheriffs.

The latest reports from fire officials say the fire is about a quarter-mile in length.

No evacuations are in place at this time. According to NewsWatch 12 reporter, one structure has burned.

This is a developing story.
