GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Three women are in custody after a 19-year-old Grants Pass woman was hospitalized with a serious head injury on Sunday, according to the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety.
Just before 7 a.m. on Sunday, police received a call from Three Rivers Medical Center about the suspected assault. The as-yet unidentified victim was being treated for a serious head injury in the hospital's Emergency Room. The assault reportedly took place in the 900-block of NE D Street in Grants Pass.
Officers responded to the hospital and began an investigation, GPDPS said. Meanwhile, the victim, now in stable condition, was brought to a hospital in Eugene for further treatment.
With the aid of a GPDPS detective, officers identified three suspects in the assault — all 23-year-old women. GPDPS identified them as Morgan Riley, Zahira Azamar, and Yasmine McGinnis [left to right in the thumbnail, above].
Officers found and arrested both McGinnis and Azamar, taking them to the Josephine County Jail on charges of Assault in the Second Degree. Riley later turned herself in and was also arrested, lodged, and charged with Assault in the Second Degree.
GPDPS has asked that anyone who witnessed the incident or has further information please contact Detective Archie Lidey at (541) 450-6342.
