GRANTS PASS, Ore. — A 60-year-old Grants Pass man is in the Josephine County Jail after police say that he sexually abused a teenager last week.
The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety says that officers received a report last Friday about the suspect, Jay Reese, sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl. The girl reported that she met Reese at Walmart on Thursday, January 28. Then, police say, Reese took the victim to lunch and then back to his home.
According to the report, the girl stayed at Reese's house overnight. Sometime during the night, Reese allegedly "subjected the victim to sexual contact without her consent."
On Tuesday, GPDPS detectives arrested Reese on two counts of Sex Abuse in the Second Degree and lodged him in the Josephine County Jail.
"This case is still under investigation and additional charges may be pending," GPDPS said. "Due to the nature of this case, there is concern there may be other victims."
The agency says that Reese has been associated with a number of school sports programs in Oregon and northern California over the past several years.
