All month long firefighters are wearing pink shirts to raise both money and awareness for breast cancer. The money they raise will go towards the Asante Foundation.
This is actually Grants Pass Fire Rescue's fourth year doing this. They are raising money by selling pink shirts to the public. Each shirt is 20 dollars.
These are the same shirts the firefighters wear when they are on and off duty. So far they've sold 30 shirts in just ten days. That means they've already raised 600 dollars.
They've raised just about $4,000 since 2014.
Brandon Rigaudour Fire Lieutenant at Grants Pass Fire Rescue says "The entire department is wearing shirts. That's about 40 firefighters and office staff so all 40 of us are wearing them and off shift days we wear our pink shirts to raise community support."
You can buy one of the pink shirts at the Parkway Public Safety Station in Grants Pass.
