Grants Pass, Ore. — The month of April was a time for 'High Visibility Enforcement Operations'—and for the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety (GPDPS), this meant aggressive DUII patrols.

According to GPDPS, in April alone officers made 137 arrests or citations in Grants Pass. Here's the breakdown:

 - 28 arrests for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (alcohol and/or controlled substances)
 - 75 tickets or arrests for Driving on a Suspended License
 - 9 tickets for Juvenile in Possession of Alcohol
 - 25 arrests for Reckless Driving

GPDPS is encouraging drivers to plan ahead and always designate a sober driver. They also ask citizens who witness suspected impaired drivers to report those sightings to police immediately.
