MEDFORD, Ore. — A Douglas County man is behind bars on Monday after an investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office found that he'd allegedly exchanged sexually explicit photos with an underage girl.
The investigation began in March after detectives received a report of an online sexual exploitation case. According to the Sheriff's Office, an adult man was exchanging explicit photos with an underage teenage girl.
With the help of the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force and the United States Marshals Service, detectives arrested 25-year-old Christopher James McGuirk of Glendale last Thursday.
McGuirk has been charged with six counts of Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct and six counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse First Degree. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail on $500,000 bail.
