EAGLE POINT, Ore. — A soldier from Central Point who died in Afghanistan earlier this month will be given a funeral with military honors next week, according to the Veterans Affairs (VA) Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center.
21-year-old Specialist Branden Tyme Kimball died at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan in a non-combat related incident on Wednesday, February 12.
Kimball joined the Army in August of 2016 and was on his first deployment.
According to the VA, a funeral with full military honors will be held for Spc. Kimball at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 2 at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
"Patriot Guard will escort the hearse, family, and funeral procession to Eagle Point National Cemetery and Old Guard will provide a flag line," the VA said.
Flags will also be displayed at the VA building and the City of Eagle Point.
