MEDFORD, Ore. — Oregon celebrates Free Fishing Weekend on June 2-3, and the event will be making a local appearance at Fish Lake on Saturday, June 2 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Fishing rods and tackle will be provided for kids, along with other family activites. There will be demonstrations on how to measure fish and make a "fish print" painting using real salmon and steelhead.

Rangers will also be hosting talks and providing grab bags to families—plus Smokey Bear will make an appearance for photos and the distribution of his far-famed 'Smokey Hugs.'

The event is put on every year by the Medford Bureau of Land Management and the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.
