MEDFORD, Ore. — Fire crews responded to a grass fire southwest of Medford along Griffin Creek Road on Friday afternoon. A plume of smoke oould be seen rising above the area.
Brian Ballou with the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) said just before 4 p.m. that the fire was estimated at an acre in size at the time. He speculated that the afternoon winds were likely causing trouble with suppression efforts for crews at the scene.
Crews were able to contain the fire at four acres. Officials at they scene said that no structures were lost, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
