Filling Bowls in Josephine County

1 in 5 people in Josephine County are food insecure. The Empty Bowl event helps feed the community by raising money for meals.

GRANTS PASS, Ore.-- Tonight at 6 p.m. is the Empty Bowl event at Parkway Christian Center.

1 in 5 people in Josephine County are food insecure. Most of those being children.

Tickets for the annual event can be purchased online for $30.

At the event you will be given a bowl. Fill it up with soup and bread. After the event you will be able to bring the bowl home as a reminder of hunger in the community.There will also be a silent auction.

All the money raised will go towards buying meals. Last year this event raised $11,000 which was enough for 55,000 meals.
