ONTARIO, Ore-- The Snake River Correctional Institution has recorded its 15 person who has passed away after testing positive for Covid-19.
The adult in custody was between the ages of 55 and 65, and passed away at a local hospital. There has been no information given on when exactly this AIC tested positive for the coronavirus.
The medical examiner is still determining the cause of death, whether it was from Covid-19 or some other related illness.
The Oregon Department of Corrections says that it requires employees and AICs to wear masks if they cannot maintain six feet of social distancing. They also say that wearing masks is mandatory at all times in health services areas, some work areas, and in food services areas.
